SONI's eighth anniversary in Lisburn

Back in January 2008 local promoters Sounds of NI launched their monthly series of showcase gigs at Hague's Bar in Lisburn and hoped to at least have a six month run.

Eight years later they are now celebrating another anniversary, and they will host a very special birthday party to mark the occasion, on Thursday January 28, with five live acts playing on the night.

All-female band Vokxen will headline the show - bringing their atmospheric indie-pop/rock to the SONI stage for the first time. The rest of the line-up will be acoustic based - Lisburn favourites Invinyl will play a rare gig and another band from the city, The Titanics, will play their first ever acoustic set.

Kicking off the night will be Ash Smith, now a solo artist after his spells in Smoking Tongue and Whanau, and Ethan Hanna.

It promises to be a very special night - a warm and welcoming atmosphere is always guaranteed for the city’s live music lovers, and indeed the monthly showcase has been an invaluable venue for local musicians to mix and network.

Doors open 8.30pm, admission is only £4.50, and there will be special drinks promos all night. SONI are always on the lookout for new Lisburn based acts to play the showcase - contact them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/soni.live.1
