Town Cup qualifying at Royal Portrush

QUALIFYING for this trophy took place at Royal Portrush Golf Club at the weekend.

It was a medal round and Philip Tweedie, playing off 4 was top qualifier with a net 67. Philip had an impressive front nine of 33.

In runner-up spot came Mark Allen, returning a net 70 off a handicap of 5. Two more 70s were recorded from Jamie Richardson (2) and Jack Allen (12). Three players returned 71, Robert Barry (11), Neal Morrison (13) and DB Smith (10).

On 72 were A Clarke (11), Paul Cameron (5), Gerald McAleese (2) and Geoff Rodgers (12). On 73 were David Boyd (6), Michael Irvine (5), Keith Elliott (9) and Gary Simpson (6). Daniel McAleese (4) posted a net 74 for the final qualifying spot.

The draw was to take place on Monday so watch the notice board for more information.
