Susan has represented Ireland on eight occasions. She became interested in fishing at a very young age when she went mackerel fishing one summer with a group of friends and became hooked on it.

The local woman is a member of Gilford Angling Club and Lisburn Angling Association. She shared the winning of the International “Gold Medal” for 2013.

The team will be captained by Julie Gerry from Maynooth Co. Kildare and is coached by Hubert Smith from Dundalk in Co Louth. The fly-tyer is Mick McShane also from Dundalk.

Madeleine Kelly, ILFA Chairman, said: “We are really excited to be going to Wales this year. We’ve visited Llyn Trawsfynydd on a previous occasion when we did very well so we have high expectations of ourselves. We’ve only been able to give ourselves four practice days in order to get to know the lake so we will definitely be working very hard.”
