Prior were dominant from the start and great play from Kathryn Rough, Heather Manning and Karen Campbell together resulted in the first goal of the game.

This put the team in high spirits and good communication and tactical play saw Rough take her chances to confidently convert her second goal.

Soon after this Emma Sproule made a good attacking run from the left, confusing the defence, enabling her to excellently score her ninth goal of the season.

Netty Wilson with fast pace was soon able to take her chance on goal, successfully putting Prior 4-0 up at half-time.

However, lack of communication allowed Kilkeel to trouble the defence much like the previous week’s game. The defence of Rhonda Duddy, Kristel Brown and Alex Graham dealt with pressure, keeper Megan McClintock had to make some magnificent saves. The pressure resulted in the visitors gaining a penalty corner. The straight strike from the top of the circle was firmly sent to the back board.

Kilkeel saw this as there opportunity to get back in the game, unfortunately for them Prior saw this as a motivator and used this to attack the oppositions circle which resulted in a penalty flick for the home side.

Captain Kristel Brown expertly placed it in the bottom corner sending the keeper to the opposite corner.

Tactical play between Netty Wilson, Claire Whiteside and Claire Lightowlers allowed 16-year-old Claire Whiteside to skilfully flick the ball over the keeper’s pads into the goal.

To finish this record breaking game, Emma Sproule passed the ball in front of the goalie to a hard working Demi Harper who swiftly swept the ball in to take the score to 7-1.

This has been a great way to complete a season of two halves. The ladies along with coach Richard Fairman wan to carry this enthusiasm into the next season.
