Reigning Champion Lisburn man Neil Campbell with English passenger Greg Parminder were challenged well in the NI Sidecarcross Supporters Club/LPL Supplements Sidecarcross Class last time out.

Fellow Lisburn crew Gary Moulds & Alan Gardner gave them a run for their money, with Moulds leading race three until the last lap, how soon will the young pretenders become the winners?

After the early season openers on the sand of Desertmartin, the Ulster Quad & Sidecarcross Championships move onto the hard pack of County Down with round 2 at Tinker Hill just north of Newry City this Saturday 9th April.

Meanwhile, Gary’s big sister Emma Moulds with passenger Niki Adair made the podium last time out, with Ricky Portis and temporary passenger fellow Lisburn man Ross Graham having a bad day at the office, the race for third will be between these two, plus wiley veterans Tony Willis and Ian Glenn always there or thereabouts.

Ballymac Hotels/Southern Quad Centre/Gilchrist Haulage/Lloyd Acoustics Premier Quad certainly took up where 2015 left off with fantastic racing, but Comber veteran Justin Reid holds a narrow Championship lead over Hillsborough youngster Mark McLernon, and with both of them having a good day at the first round of the British Championship last weekend.

This Saturday promises more close racing with Saintfield’s Dean Colhoun getting to grips with his new WSP Husqvarna, Banbridge’s David Cowan, Sean Goss from Newry, Michael McAneney from Limavady, and Navan man Leon Rodgers, surprise winner of the Under 21 class at last week’s British all in with a shout.

The Clubmans Class also produced some close racing and a good entry at Desertmartin, with Lorne Sinclair narrowly beating Saintfield teenager Ben Colhoun for the overall, Ben Carey, Sean Cassidy and Graham Ballentine will be at the business end too.

In the Junior Quad Championships, the 250cc Class is led by treble winner Dean Young, with Jack Young and Curtis Sizer in hot pursuit, the 110cc Class is led by Andrew Black with Ross Dillon and Eden Douglas chasing, and another treble winner in Luke Dillon leads the 50cc Class with Jackson Kington and Travis Toye chasing him.

Racing starts at 11am, entry is £5.00 with under 14’s going free.
