Mark’s the main man at shoot

RATHFRILAND Clay Pigeon Club held their latest 20-bird DTL shoot on Thursday, 7 June however it was nothing much more than a washout, with wind and torrential rain making the night a misery for the few shooters who braved the conditions.

The club shot a small total of five lines and yet still managed to see three shooters reach the final, namely Alan Fowler, Mark Balfour and last week’s winner, Ronnie Peters.

The three shot off but were inseparable so were forced to go to single barrel competition with the in-form Mark Balfour holding his nerve to finish on top.

Final results were as follows: 1st, Mark Balfour; 2nd, Alan Fowler; 3rd, Ronnie Peters.

So the weather plays a part in another night of shooting at Rathfriland, credit to those who braved the wet, decent shooting made for a good night’s craic despite the conditions.

Shooting continues on Thursday 14 June with 20-bird DTL beginning from 6pm.
