LAST CHANCE TO NOMINATE YOUR LOCAL SPORTS VOLUNTEER

The Hughes Insurance Sports Volunteer Awards, an awards programme aimed at recognising and rewarding Northern Ireland’s unsung sporting heroes, is calling for the people of Coleraine to nominate sports volunteers in their area before the entry deadline on 1 April.

The awards are open to volunteers from all sports and aim to unearth the real sporting heroes throughout the province. The judges are looking for the people whose drive, energy and passion keeps sports clubs and societies at the heart of the local community.

The awards will run province-wide, focused through 12 branches of Hughes Insurance and each location will have a winner when voting closes on 1 April 2013 and the decisions are made by a sporting judging panel.

Hughes Insurance Coleraine Branch Manager Jonathan Robinson said: “The dead line for nominations is fast approaching so we are encouraging everyone in Coleraine to visit the branch or go online to our website to nominate. We want to give volunteers in our area the recognition they deserve.”

Each Hughes Insurance branch winner will win a trophy, £200 for themselves plus £500 for the team, club or group. All 12 will then go forward to the Northern Ireland finals and the chance to win the Overall Sports Volunteer title.

To nominate a volunteer from your community for the award, please visit your local Hughes Insurance branch for an entry form or find us on the web at www.HughesSportsVolunteers.com. The deadline for nominations is 1st April 2013.
