HOCKEY: Larne Grammar settle for draw

LARNE Grammar School’s First XI had to settle for a share of the spoils as they drew 2-2 with Belfast Royal Academy (BRA) on Saturday.

BRA opened the scoring in the first-half, but Larne fought back and a great play by the girls led to Kerry McIlwaine’s equaliser before the interval.

Throughout the second-half, both teams had several opportunities. After an excellent attack up the right-hand side of the pitch, Chloe McIlwaine passed the ball square to Amy Beggs ans she duly put the ball in the back of the net allowing Larne to take the lead. But BRA hit back right at the death to level matters.
