Guy leads East Coast contingent

Andy Guy led East Coast Athletic Club’s contingent home at East Antrim Harriers’ Forest Race in Woodburn Forest in midweek.

The second race of the series saw participants negotiate a short but hilly 2.5-mile course.

Guy, a regular at the series over the years, continued his good form to lead the club’s runners home in 14:29 (4th place).

Vice-Chairman Greg Lavery crossed the line a mere three seconds later in 14:32 (fifth place), before the ever impressive Daniel Girvin recorded 14:42 to take sixth spot. James Robinson (17th, 15:49), Naoise McLoughlin (19th, 15:55) and Allan McCullough (21st, 16:04) all reached the finish line in quick succession, while Chris Davis once again impressed with a 16:36 (26th place) finish.

Allyson O’Toole secured second place in the ladies’ race in 17:06. Lee Stirling continued his good form of late, crossing the line next and taking 46th place in 18:46. Paul Clements (19:31, 55th), Lesley Robinson (20:01, 13th lady), Sandy Plumb (20:12, 72nd), Catherine Maxwell (20:28, 16th lady), Gillian Leetch-Armstrong (20:36, 17th lady), Carol Clarke (21:08, 19th lady), Rowena Davis (22:05, 26th lady), and Nicky Marcus (23:22, 32nd lady) all followed in quick succession.
