Mooney wins McBride Cup on tiebreak

The McBride Cup was the first of the Summer competitions and was played for over the Easter weekend with low scoring the order of the day!

Four players all finished with 37 points each and after the enforcement of the tiebreak Aaron Mooney (9) was declared the winner. With 16 points after nine Aaron completed the back nine in two over par 37 for a further 20 points the highlights of his round were birdies at holes 2, 10 and 14.

In runner-up place Colin McConaghie (18) opened with 18 before adding 19 to pip Ronnie Engall into third place with a better last six! Trevor Cupples (23) was the fourth player on 37 with nines of 19 and 18 failing to score at the last proving very costly.

The twos kitty was shared by Tommy McGowan Robert Orr and Aaron Mooney.
