However, it happened twice within a week at Lambeg when both Stephen Johnston and Tommy Coulter recorded an ace at the par three 16th.

Stephen was first to achieve the feat, holing out in the Wednesday Hat and seven days later, Tommy did just the same thing.

Saturday Competition

This week’s competition was sponsored by Eastwood Estate Agents and was won by Warren McGardle (21) with a magnificent score of 45 pts.

Warren got off to a terrible start with double bogies at the first and third but a good steady run in the middle of the front nine to include three pars and a birdie retrieved the situation.

The only blip in the back nine was a double bogie at the stroke index one but there was little damage as this still scored him a point. He finished strong to accumalate his 45pts and the winning score.

He scored a two further birdies at the two par three holes 14 and 16 in the back nine but the double bogies at nine and 15 made the difference.

Chris Maguire (16) finished third with 43 pts along with Garth Alexander (10) but it was Chris who took the prize after the count-back.

Chris got off to an unbelievable start with a no score at the first, a birdie at the second and double bogie at the third.

Ivor Harron (6) won the Best Gross.

Seniors

Sam Thompson (23) came away with both the Seniors Cup (Over 50) and The Veterans Cup (Over 65) with a well executed 42pts.
