Free golf camp coming to Prehen next month

If you know a child aged between 5 and 12 years of age, who already plays golf and would like to improve their skills or a child who would like to start playing golf, the City of Derry Golf Club are hosting a free golf camp to get them started.

The camp will consist of three, 45 minute sessions held on 10th, 12th and 14th August.

The times are as follows: 10am-10.45am – beginner/novice girls; 11am–11.45 – beginner/novice boys and 12noon–12.45pm – improver’s boys and girls.

There is no cost involved and all equipment will be supplied by the Pro Shop.

Places are limited, anyone wishing to enrol a child into the camp should pick up a registration form from the shop or telephone 71311496 for more details.

Meanwhile there was big turnout of members competing for the honour of taking home one of the Major prize on offer at Prehen over the weekend.

Two players recorded 42 points and with a favourable tie break it fell to Connor McKnight (11) to take home the coveted prize and Alfie Kane (10) took the second prize.
