Glenarm side come out on top

The ever-present Barry Hamill was on hand after only 30 seconds to drive a low ball to the net to give the home team an early lead, but things were level just one minute later when J.B. McGuikan slotted home.

Barry’s brother, Darren was on top form picking up nine points before the break, while points from Brendan McDermott (2), and Blain McDermott (1), with 6 for the visitors nearly closed the half. But right on the whistle 18-year-old corner forward Anthony O`Neill ‘doubled’ on a high dropping ball, sending it to the net for a half-time score. 2-12, 1-6.

The second half started off slowly with teams trading four points each in the opening 20 minutes, when a Mickey Devlin goal from a 21 for the visitors brought the margin to five.

Further points from Darren Hamill, and Niall Hamill gave the Glenarm men a deserved seven-point victory.
