Alderman Paul Porter, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure Services Committee, said: “The Lisburn Half Marathon, 10K Road Race and Fun Run is one of the highlights in our sporting calendar. It is always great to watch thousands of runners and their families on the roads and streets of Lisburn. I am pleased to be the Chairman this year as we hold the last Half Marathon in the Lisburn City Council area before we merge with Castlereagh Borough Council next year.

“May I take this opportunity to thank those organisations who are sponsoring and supporting this event in partnership with ourselves including the continued support of local company Coca-Cola. I hope that family and friends of those taking part will come along on the evening and cheer the runners on from the sidelines as they put their training to the test.”

Nicci Gregg, Community Investment Manager, Coca-Cola HBC Northern Ireland said: “As a local business Coca-Cola has a long standing relationship with Lisburn City Council and the City’s residents, and is proud to be part of an event which is focused just as much on community spirit as it is on promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

“We wish all participants, organisers and volunteers the very best of luck and I look forward to seeing you at the finish line.”

“Runners packs will include the runner’s number, champion chip and ‘T’ Shirt,” concluded Alderman Porter.
