Get physical with city council

LISBURN City Council is inviting all of its residents to get involved in one of the many free activities being organised as part of World Physical Activity Day on Saturday April 6.

Residents can try out many free activities being organised at the Lagan Valley LeisurePlex and at the Council’s four activity centres including basketball, canoeing, archery, football, water polo, football, yoga and hip hop to mention only a few.

Encouraging everybody to come along and try one of the many free taster sessions which will be offered throughout the day, the Chairman of the Council’s Leisure Services Committee, Councillor Thomas Beckett said, “With Lisburn being designated as the 2013 European City of Sport we wanted to give everybody in Lisburn the opportunity to try out a new sport or activity during the year and to encourage young people to get involved in physical activity.
