Geoffrey lands first ‘major’ of NIDO season
Up against the country’s best throwers at Tandragee Recreational Centre, the Drifters player won the Northern Ireland Gold Cup Singles (Tommy Forsythe Memorial) to land the much sought-after title.
Congratulations also to John Elder who made it to the semi final, where Geoffrey won the all Ballymena matchup; and to Darnell McCrory who was defeated by runner-up Barry Copeland in the quarter finals.

Hide AdMeanwhile, there was a full programme of action in the Ballymena. Harryville & District Darts League, where the best individual performance of the week was a 14-dart leg by Paul McDonald.
Peter Stewart had the week’s best finish with a 158 checkout, followed by: 156 Andy McCaughern (Ballee I), 150 Darnell McCrory (Drifters), 120 Paul McDonald, 103 Sammy Balmer (both Buffs Club) and 108 Bobby Carson (Michelin)
Spinning Mill duo Peter Stewart and Danny Balmer both hit 180s.

Fountain Arrows 1, Drifters 7: Drifters claimed a strong victory, to sit proudly at the top of the table at the halfway point.

Greenhills 7, Thatch Inn 1: Greenhills try to keep pace with Drifters for their title with this strong victory. Well done Paul Rock (2-1) helping Thatch Inn avoid the whitewash. Greenhills gained the victory thanks to wins from Paddy Coyles (2-0), Jarlath McGarry (2-0), Gabe Kerr (2-0), Darren McNeill (2-0), Johnny Cree (2-1), Leonard McKeegan (Snr) (2-0) and Leonard McKeegan (Jnr) (2-0).

FLoaters 6, Spinning Mill 2: Floaters secured another strong victory to push themselves into a top 4 place in the table. Well done Peter Stewart (2-1) and Lee Balmer (2-1) with the points for Spinning Mill. Floaters winners this week were Glenn Gilmore (2-1), Davy Logan (2-1), Noel Craig (2-1), Ben Gilmore (2-0), Dean Balmer (2-0) and Derek Campbell (2-1).
