VIDEO: Irish Cup triumph of 1989 remembered

Ballymena United’s most recent Irish Cup success was remembered at a special function last week.

Paul Hardy and Alex McKee pictured with the old Irish Cup trophy at the 25th anniversary reunion dinner on Saturday night.

The team which brought the trophy back to the Showgrounds in 1989 were back together for a 25-year anniversary reunion in the Des Allen Suite.

Players from the team, along with manager Alex McKee, recounted tales from the cup run, which culminated in Paul Hardy’s famous back-heeled winning goal in the final against Larne.
