Two matches for U10’s

The two Lisburn Distillery U-10 teams carried on their season with two games at Ballysillan.

The Whites were first on the pitch against Immaculata and it turned out to be a difficult day for the boys as the West Belfast team were in irresistible form.

Distillery tried to play the ball out from the back as per usual but a combination of good play by their opponents and not enough options for the man in possession made it hard to get any rhythm going.

Immaculata got themselves a few goals but it could have many more but for the heroics in nets by Whites keeper Lewis Doyle who had an outstanding game.

Game two saw the U-10s face Aquinas with the boys trying out a new formation with Ben Coulter playing a midfield holding role. The change in set-up didn’t seem to affect the team as they produced great football in the first period. Ben played his new position superbly supplying a link between defence and attack. The Wee Whites broke the deadlock at the start of the second period as Jonathan McCullough tapped home into the empty net. Aquinas pulled a goal back after a mistake. All that was forgotten though right at the break when Ross scored a goal of sublime quality. The scoring was completed when Jonathan went on a mazy run before slotting the ball home for what was an excellent solo goal.
