Tussy '˜proud' to have played for his home town club

'˜All good things must come to an end' was how Johnny Watt summed up his release from Coleraine.

The local lad’s 11-year stint in the Bannsiders’ first team came to an end on Thursday night.

‘Tussy’ loved playing for his home town club, and was a cult hero among the fans for his never-say-die attitude and his commitment to the cause.

“I would just like to thank all the Coleraine fans and players I have played with for your support over the years,” said Watt.

“I loved every minute off it, but good things have to come to an end.

“I’m proud to have played 11 years for my hometown, thanks for all your support.”

Former team-mate and current Limavady United boss, Paul Owens, highlighted Tussy’s attitude towards the club.

“Regardless of his involvement ever Saturday his main concern was a Coleraine win,” he said.

“He is a real example to all young players coming up through the ranks on what it takes to be at Coleraine.”
