Oran ‘over the moon’ with McDaid acquisition
The 23-year-old agreed terms and trained with his new team-mates on Tuesday night much to the delight of Kearney, who hailed it as one of his biggest signings.
“There’s no doubt about it this is as big a signing I’ve made since I’ve come to the club,” said Kearney.

“He has a great pedigree who will bring so much to us. I’m over the moon to have secured his signature.”
McDaid made over 80 appearances for Derry City scoring 21 goals and also had a brief spell at York City at the start of this year before returning to the Brandywell in June.
But with new boss Roddy Collins keen to bolster his striking options McDaid decided it was time to move on to pastures new.

“This is a big shot in the arm for us,” said Kearney.
“Since Curtis Allen left we have lacked a real predator and Davy will give us that edge. He is a terrific finisher.
“But there is also an honesty and a great work ethic in his play, which will give us an extra dimension up top.
“Davy had several good offers but he wanted to come here which is a major boost for us. He is keen to help fire us up the table.”
McDaid, who will not be eligible to play until January, will wear the number 19 shirt.
