Missed chance as Blues are beaten by Point
A goal in each half from Town striker Stephen Hughes was enough to see off Gary Hamilton’s side.
Glenavon had made a bright start and Tiarnan Mulvenna went close to giving the visitors the lead before Hughes made it 1-0 on 14 minutes.

Hide AdWarrenpoint keeper Parr was called upon to protect that lead with a fantastic save to keep out a dipping volley from Brian McCaul.
Five minutes into the second half and McCaul did find the back of the net, set up by Guy Bates, he struck the ball firmly home for his first goal since returning to Glenavon during the transfer window.
That should have been the signal for the visitors to go on and find the winner, but it was Warrenpoint with the ball in the net again 15 minutes later and it was Hughes again on target.
Glenavon kept pressing but when a great opening came luck was not on their side, a shot from Andy McGrory hit off McCaul and the post when a goal seemed certain.
