Law signs for the Owls!

Glenn Law (16) a pupil at Coleraine College went on a three-day trial at the Hillsborough Stadium at the start of the year. The midfielder impressed the powers that be at the Yorkshire based club and signed a professional contract last Friday.

“I can’t wait to get started,” said Glenn, son of Coleraine Reserves boss Johnny Law.

“I have put in a lot of hard work in down through the years and it has paid off.”

During last week’s trip to Sheffield, Glenn said that he was impressed with first team boss Dave Jones, who spoke to a group of new signings.

“Dave Jones was very good.

“He told us not to feel left out that Sheffield Wednesday players were all part of one big family.

“I will be staying in digs with another player I know through the Northern Ireland set up, Seanna Foster, so at least I will know someone.”

Sheffield Wednesday also have a number of Northern Ireland Under 19’s in their ranks and Glenn says that’ll help him settle in at his new club.

Glenn, who has played a number of games this season for Coleraine Reserves, came through the ranks at Bertie Peacock Youths .

The flame haired mid-fielder was also part of the County Londonderry set up and impressed as part of the Northern Ireland under 16 side that played live on SKY as part of the Victory Shield tournament.

Glenn now joins Mark Edgar and Scott Whiteside, two other 16-year-olds from the Coleraine area, who both played for Bertie Peacock Youths, who have gained contracts at Blackburn Rovers and Rangers respectively.
