Hillsborough Boys are driving forward
These players are asked to train a minimum of twice a week and there will be a Sunday Academy with top coaching from ‘A’ and ‘B’ licence coaches and a goalkeeping academy with the club goalkeeping coach.
A new approach is an after-school academy, which is to be launched shortly.

What about the others?
Lisburn Youth start players early, with teams and coaching for the under-11 and 12. This caters, of course, for the small-sided game.
Youth also have under-13 and under-14 teams in the Lisburn Junior Invitational League, where they do a great job in developing local youth.

Hide AdLisburn Distillery Youth have also an Academy and develop players at all but two of the age-groups in the Lisburn League. Surprisingly, the Whites, who will be pushing for major development at youth level just now, do not have under-11s in Lisburn and, also in the new under-19 League.
Lisburn Rangers also go so far at youth level but they have teams in Lisburn League circles.
Lisburn Ladies found that playing at under-12 level last season did the club a lot of good and they will press on again this season.

Hide AdThey will join Ballymacash YM as the only club to have three teams in action in the South Antrim League.
They will play in Division 2 along with five new teams who have been placed in that Division by the League committee.
Only Lagan Swifts among the new boys received a place in Division 2 and that probably came about as they have entered two teams in South Antrim this season.
Lagan Swifts II will certainly have to swim against the tide as they came out against Ironside Cup holders, Taughmonagh YM, in a preliminary round Ironside tie.
