FOOTBALL: Derry Colts side suffer narrow defeat
Glentoran started the game very brightly and had the Colts defence on the back-foot in the opening minutes.
They deservedly took the lead after five minutes with a wonderful curling shot from the edge of the box which sailed past the helpless Leannan McCann in the Colts goal into the roof of the net.

Hide AdColts however rallied well to this setback and gradually Colts played themselves back into the game with Sean Duffy, Nathan Divin and Aodhfin McLaughlin getting to grips with the Glens forward line.
Just before the break Glens increased their lead with a wonderfully worked goal.
After a controlled build-up, the Glens forward cut in from the left side and placed a beautiful shot into the top corner.
Colts came out in the second half and produced some wonderful football pegging the Glens back for long periods in their own half.

Hide AdJack Bradley was having a very impressive game and was linking well with Joe Callaghan and midway through the half Callaghan got the goal which the Colts’ play deserved.
Colts continued to press looking for the equaliser but Glentoran were very dangerous on the break and McCann produced a wonderful diving save to keep Colts in the game and Callaghan came close to an equaliser with a rasping shot which sailed past the wrong side of the post.
This was a good display from the Colts, but in the end the visitors held on.
