Double disaster season

It was a double disaster season in the Premier Division of the Amateur League for Dunmurry Rec and Dromara Village when both were relegated.

Dromara had a nightmare season when they only managed three drawn games out of 26 played.

Dunmurry did not fare as badly but they finished on 23 points, which was eight behind Killyleagh YC and this is believed to be the first time Rec have been relegated from the top flight of the Amateur League.

They will be replaced by Derriaghy CC who finished second in Division 1A. They finished on 60 points just a couple behind Immaculata and well clear of the rest.

It was also a good season for Lisburn Rangers, who also gained promotion from Division 1B after finishing a point behind St Patrick’s YM on 62 points.

Dunmurry YM had their best year for some time with a fifth place finish in this division, but Downshire YM ended the year third from the bottom.

Dromore Amateurs were one off the bottom of Division C, but well clear of bottom team, Kilroot Rec.

Suffolk FC managed a third place finish in Division 2A behind Woodvale FC and Rosemount Rec..

Drumbo were a place off the bottom in Division 2B, Level with Whitehead Eagles but 12 points clear of Rooftop.

Finaghy FC were four from the foot of Division 2C with Wesley FC just a point clear of bottom team, 4th Newtownabbey FC.

Derriaghy CC II remain in Division 3A after gaining a third from the bottom spot, but Dunmurry Rec II were four points further back and were relegated.

Lisburn Rangers II finished four off the bottom in Division 3B, but Dromara Village II were relegated, finishing one from the foot of the table.

Downshire YM II and Dunmurry YM II both finished mid-table in Division 3C and Suffolk II were also comfortably placed in 3D.

Dromore Amateurs II and Drumbo were comfortably out of the relegation zone in Division 3E, while Wesley FC II folded early in the 3F season.
