Coagh Youths fight out draw on the road to Armagh City

Coagh Youths ran out 6-1 winners when they hosted Markethill Swifts two weekends ago, but knew they would be in for a much tighter contest against a very well drilled Armagh City Youth side.

The home side took the lead from a set piece after the referee had judged that Chambers had carried the ball over the line, a goal, some onlookers believed was very harsh.

The half continued with both sides playing some lovely phrases of football which was a treat to watch. The Coagh management where disappointed to go in at the break one down.

Coagh came out of the blocks fast at the start of the second half and the youngsters maintained the pressure on Armagh up. They finally got their reward when Stephen Taylor slammed home to level.

The Coagh lads kept up the excellent style of football and when a superb ball was delivered from Reid, Stinson made no mistake to put Coagh 2-1 up.

As the game neared it’s end a lapse at the back allowed Armagh a long range strike to level the match. In the end this was a fair enough result from two young teams who got the ball down a played football the proper way.

Man of the Match performances from Aaron Reid and Ryan Stinson, though everyone played their part.

Coagh Youth are home to Killen Rangers on October 26th at Coagh Sports Centre. Kick off 10.30am.

Coagh travelled to Killen in the opening game of the season but lost out on the points so we will be hoping for a bit of revenge come this Saturday.

Coagh management is calling for as many supporters as possible to come out and get behind their young side.
