A rewarding week at Milk Cup says Dean

However, despite ending the tournament with a defeat, the squad can reflect on a rewarding week says Dean McCullough, chairman of the County Armagh Milk Cup Association.

“The boys will reflect on the positives,” said Dean. “I feel they learned a lot this week. “In football you have to learn how to win and how to take defeat and they certainly had to deal with those emotions.

“They were gutted and down after going out on Thursday on penalties. It was tough especially as we had held the lead for so long and the other team equalised with five minutes to go. But that is how tough football can be.

“The massive high they can take away with them is the magnificent performance against Right to Dream. They have beaten the likes of Arsenal and Benfica in recent months so to hold them to a scoreless draw was a superb effort.”

In the game against North Dublin it was a very even and close affair. Co Armagh were unlucky not to take the lead when a shot from Sam Murphy hit the woodwork.

Early in the second half North Dublin edged ahead but Co Armagh dug deep and although they created a few scrambles in the opposing goalmouth they could not find that all important goal and with a minute to go North Dublin broke away to add a second.
