City hosts Boccia event
With teams descending on Lisburn from across Northern Ireland, it was The Manor Aces Boccia team who emerged victorious at the Disability Sport NI Senior Boccia Championships.
The Armagh based team came through the competition in stunning style, winning the final against the MS Rollers (Portadown/Craigavon) 6-0, whilst the Fit 4U group from Craigavon took the 3rd/4th place play-off with a close fought 3-2 win over the Craigavon Jacks.

Well done to all the teams involved and a big thank you to the DSNI staff, Castlereagh/Lisburn Active Community Programme and Councillor Jonathan McCarthy.
Boccia is a bowling game played from a seated position and can be played by people with disabilities as well as non-disabled.
It is a game of skill, touch and precision and was developed originally for people with Cerebral Palsy and is played right up to Paralympic level.
