Celtic are too strong for Athletic

INVER Atletic met first division opposition in the form of Broadway Celtic in this O'Kane Cup first round cup match.

The home team began well and showed their class with Inver struggling to cope at times finding themselves three down at the break. Celtic added a fourth goal on the hour. Inver’s luck was summed up in the ninetieth minute when Broadway scored a deflected fifth goal.

On the Thursday it was back to the league and Inver hosted third division favourites Penerol. Penerol took the lead after a scramble in the six yard box. Inver were soon level when Hughes found himself in space to prod the ball by the advancing keeper.
