Bangers on show at Nuttscorner Oval

Bangers Irish Teams Championship 2010

FOLLOWING on from the success of the inaugural running a year ago, Nuttscorner Oval will stage the second Irish Teams Championship for the National Bangers on Sunday February 21st.

Already a massive 19 teams have signalled their intent to challenge for the crown, including two teams from mainland UK, meaning over 70 cars should be present in the pits.

For this meeting the Banger stars will race in teams of four cars, with each painted up in their chosen colours, and they will then use all tactics available to them to attempt to take the title when the points are tallied up at the end of the day.

Do you go all out for glory? Or split your team by sending some after the wins and others after your rivals? It all adds up to some awesome and spectacular thrills and spills for the spectators, as no quarter is asked or given by these drivers.

Defending their title will be The Assassins from Dublin, and they are most certainly the team to beat in Irish Banger racing these days. They will be fielding three teams, but will face stiff opposition from fellow Dublin crews Team Savage and Team Houndog, as well as local Ulster favourites Team Buckle.

The Birmingham based Scrapyard Screamers will aim to take the honours back across the water on their first visit, whilst The Allsorts have also drafted in a number of UK drivers to boost their ranks and could be the surprise package on the day. It really does promise to be a fantastic days racing and wrecking.
