Ballymoney hit four at Lurgan but Glebe lose at home to Tobermore Utd

A DOUBLE apiece from Mark Gillan and Conleth McCaughan racked up a good away win for Ballymoney whose goalkeeper Brian Moore saved his fourth penalty in two games.

The visitors went ahead after 10 minutes when McCaughan crashed a superb free kick into the roof of the net from 20 yards.

Lurgan’s Fitzpatrick had a penalty saved by Moore, his fourth penalty save in two games.

Ballymoney suffered a setback on 37 mins when McFerran was sent off but it didn’t deter them and they went on to slam in three more goals in the second half.

Ballymoney had the perfect start to the second half when a poor defensive error was intercepted by Mark Gillan on 47 mins and planted into the net past a hapless Fox.

Ballymoney went further ahead on the hour when after being chopped down in the box Mark Gillan converted the penalty.

The visitors added to their lead on 65 mins when after a great move involving Gillan, Larkin and McCaughan ended with McCaughan blasting past Fox to score his second and Ballymoney’s fourth.

Lurgan Celtic had Campbell sent off for a second yellow card offence and with time running out McCaughan had a chance to complete his hat trick but his cheeky chip was thwarted by Fox in the home goal.
