Awards night for Whitehead Swimming Club

Almost 100 people packed into Whitehead’s Parochial Hall to see members of Whitehead Swimming Club receive their awards recently.

Seventy kids managed to pass their badge test, while five earned a distance badge.

The badges are run under the auspices of the Swimming Teachers’ Association of Great Britain and are awarded for ‘Personal Survival.

The badges were sponsored by Carrickfergus Amphitheatre and the club is very grateful for their support.

A further four members passed their ‘Rookie Lifeguard’ gold badge test.

After the badge awards, club trophies and medals were presented to those swimmers deemed to have made the biggest effort in practice, coupled with good behaviour.

The presentation of the trophies was made by Mr. David Blair, Operations Manager of Carrickfergus Amphitheatre.
