The local Larne parkrun enjoyed its largest-ever turnout on Saturday (July 19), largely due to the final 5k run / graduation of East Coast AC’s Jog Larne programme.

A massive 182 athletes took to the start line and it was Corey Urwin who was first runner across the line in 21:05. It was a superb result given that Corey ran the entire course pushing a buggy with not one, but two children inside! Laura Hogg led the ladies home in a new personal best of 22:49.

Callum McIlroy showed no signs of tiredness from his performance at the previous night’s Dalriada 5k race when he covered the course in 25:03, claiming 19th place.

Bradie Hogg followed just three seconds behind, showing that the running talent certainly runs in the family when she joined her mum at the finish area in a time of 25:06 (3rd lady).

Sandy Plumb secure 23rd place in 25:50, closely followed by Karl Joyce who achieved a new personal best of 25:57 (24th place).
