Ace! Millburn win annual Paul Logan tournament!

Paul Logan Tennis Coaching held their third annual inter-primary school tennis tournament earlier this month - with six primary schools doing battle and serving up some high tempo tennis.

The schools taking part were Ballysally, Drumachose PS, Drumreagh, Macosquin, Millburn and St John’s.

Local MLA Claire Sugden, a keen tennis fan, was on hand to present the winning schools with their trophies.

Almost fifty children competed in a round-robin style competition.

Each group was extremely close, and group trophies this year went to four different schools.

The overall School Cup this year went to Millburn Primary School, with St Johns Primary being the runners up. And for the first year the school trophy was decided by overall points between the two schools.

Coach, Paul Logan praised the children: “This year the standard of tennis was extremely high - all the children ready did try their best.

“There were a lot of closely contested matches.

“We would like to thank all the children for taking part, the schools for participating and sponsor Kenny’s Spar, who supplied all of the participants with water and fruit.

“The tennis tournament was also supported by Coleraine Borough Council’s Sports Development department, who secured Coleraine Leisure Centre as the venue, and also supplied the individual medals for the children.”
