Woodbrook resolution welcomed

This follows Phoenix Gas agreeing to provide energy after the existing provider, vital Energy, felt it could not reach a cost efficient solution to the residents’ energy needs.

Mr McCrea said: “Though the solution to this long-running problem is not ideal, it is something that I feel is acceptable and affordable to the residents.

“I was very pleased to see how the residents mobilised themselves, and came together in resolving this issue. This is an example of positive community engagement and democracy in action, and shows what can be achieved if people work together for a common goal.

“Residents were facing huge rises in energy costs, and it was clear Vital Energy’s model was not sustainable. We have worked closely with all the groups involved and I feel this is very positive for all involved going forward.”
