Woman cleared of Bertie Acheson death

A woman has been cleared of the murder of Coleraine pensioner Bertie Acheson after the prosecution offered no evidence against her.

Jennifer Toland, 25, formerly of The Cedars in Antrim, was also cleared of the theft of £335 in cash.

Her estranged husband, Paul James Manolito Toland, 41, pleaded guilty last month to manslaughter.

The pensioner died from a heart attack after a break-in at his home in Coleraine in April 2012.
