Woman assaulted Praxis worker

A Lurgan woman was given a conditional discharge for 12 months last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for an assault charge.

She was 36 year old Monica Thompson, Castle Lane Court, Lurgan, and she admitted the offence which happened on August 14 last year.

The court heard that a team leader at Praxis had been assaulted by the defendant.

He had been meeting with her when she became angry and punched and spat on him.

She had to be restrained and said she could not recall punching him.

Her solicitor said she had a clear record but she had significant difficulties.

District Judge, Mr Peter King, said it was an exceptional case which he would deal with in an exceptional manner but her behaviour was completely unacceptable.
