Whitehead man wins seat on council

Whitehead man Robert Logan has won a seat in the new Mid and East Antrim Council.

The Alliance representative was elected to the Larne Lough district on Saturday at the sixth count after polling 583 first preference votes.

A retired British Telecom engineer, Mr Logan has resided in Whitehead for over 40 years.

He served on the Carrickfergus District Policing Partnership and is a Whitehead Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator.

The election process was familiar territory for the local man, who previously ran for Carrickfergus Borough Council in 2011 and 2005.
