VSL offers chance to buy refurbished furniture online

VOLUNTARY Service Lisburn (VSL) has launched its new e-commerce site.

The site will sell only 100% recycled furniture which has been refurbished by VSL - a registered charity specialising in the refurbishment and restoration of second hand furniture.

What makes VSL different is that the refurbishment is done by the long term unemployed and people on community service orders. Throughout the process these workers are trained in the cleaning, restoration and refurbishment of pre-used furniture. They are also given the opportunity to achieve qualifications, increasing their future employability.

VSL chief executive Pamela Neill said of the venture; “We are really excited to bring our range of recycled furniture to a greater audience. The furniture sold at VSL not only helps the environment but it also helps the local community and we hope that through this new site we will gain the ability to continue our good work far into the future.”

The website, www.vslisburn.com, will offer customers the chance to purchase recycled furniture online and arrange delivery straight to their door. Up until the April 2, VSL are offering 15% off all online purchases.

Consumers can also view examples and purchase from VSL’s bespoke service, Inspiration at either www.vslisburn.com or www.inspirationfurniture.co.uk.
