The Mayor, Councillor Andrew Ewing and customer Patricia O’Neill from Glenavy, helped with an official ribbon cutting before having a tour of the store.

Store directors Anne and Dorothy Brodison were particularly pleased to welcome Patricia back. Earlier this year, after complaining of floaters in her eyes, it was detected that Patricia, 47, had a tear in her retina.

Experienced optometrist Anne immediately referred her to Belfast’s Local Regional Acute Eye Service. Experts have advised that Patricia was just hours away from losing her sight and her thanks have been shared with optometrist Anne for the quick referral that saved her sight.

“Despite only just re-opening, the feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive and we’re delighted that we can continue to provide the same high level of service our customers know us for, with an offering which now includes sophisticated screening equipment and a wide selection of frames.”
