Video: Pupils excel at Ballyclare Secondary School

The Doagh Road school had some outstanding performances from their Year 12 pupils, which included a 10 per cent rise in the number of pupils attaining five A* to C grades. This included the subjects of English and Mathematics.

Principal Kathryn Bell was very pleased with the increase in the number of pupils attaining such a high standard.

“This is an incredible achievement which is the result of sheer hard work on the part of pupils and staff. It is very encouraging for staff to see clear evidence that our Key Stage Four strategy is working and our pupils feel supported and are achieving very good grades in all GCSE subjects,” she said.

Mrs Bell paid tribute to the parents and carers of the pupils, for all the support and help that they have given.

“As in previous years we acknowledge the support of parents and carers and the role they play in supporting their young people as they work towards examinations. Parents and carers play a significant part in the success of Ballyclare Secondary School. It was a pleasure to see the Assembly Hall filled with delighted parents,” Mrs Bell continued.

The principal and the rest of her staff congratulated all of their Year 12 pupils and wished them well as they start the next chapter in their lives, whether that be continuing their studies at Ballyclare Secondary or not.

“It is always a pleasure to see pupils rewarded for their hard work and a delight to share in their many achievements. As a staff we wish them continuing success for the future and congratulate them all on a very successful year,” Mrs Bell added.
