Upper Bann Fusiliers recruiting new members for the marching season

THE Upper Bann Fusiliers are currently recruiting members in the run-up to the new parading season.

The band has grown in recent years and has contracts with the Loyal Orders for many big parades throughout the year.

It has a five year contract with Lurgan District LOL No.6 to lead all of its parades, bookings for Juvenile Day in Bangor, Portadown Mini-Twelfth, Scarva on July 13, ABOD Relief of Derry Celebrations on Easter Monday and August, RPB Last Saturday in August and ABOD Shutting of the Gates of Londonderry in December.

There are big plans for the band this year, especially in the lead up to the Twelfth celebrations in Lurgan.

The band is also organising fundraisers in the coming months, in the hope to gain a new full uniform for 2010.

This would be an ideal time to join, as the next few months provide time to learn the new tunes and style of drumming.

Upper Bann Fusiliers has a strict code of conduct and a full child protection policy.

The band has vacancies for flute and some side drummers.
