£69m PSNI damage pay outs
The PSNI has paid out almost £70m in compensation as a result of damage claims since 2010 alone, the Sentinel has learned.
Over 10,000 cases were brought against the force between 2010 and 2013.
But just 25 of these resulted in a court award. However, during the same period 9,561 cases were settled out of court. This resulted in £69,933,817.63 in total damage pay outs.
