Chief Executive of the Culture Company, Shona McCarthy, hopes to have an outline programme for 2013 ready by the autumn:

“We intend to hit the ground running and build on work that has been ongoing since July 2010. We have already attracted a number of showcase events including the Turner Prize and the last leg of the Clipper round the world yacht race and are confident that we can attract many more. Programming will continue right up until 2013 as there should always be a window for new ideas and innovation.”

The cultural programme for 2013 will cost approximately £20 million to put into effect. This money will come from various government agencies, the private sector (advertisers and sponsors), trusts, foundations and ticket sales.

Culture Company 2013 Chairman, Martin Bradley, is confident that the new company can deliver the ambitious programme in two years time, “The company and our board are committed to the pledges of the bid, bringing coherence and a unique identity to the programme, and enabling good ideas to be delivered.”
