TULLYGALLY played host to Hill Street in the Alexandra cup first round at Kernan.

Hill St started brightly forcing successive corner's in the first two minutes and the pressure told when they took a deserved lead after four minutes, when Mickey Cassidy diverted a cross into his own net.

Tullygally responded well and in the 10th minute Daniel Ryan was allowed time and space to apply the finish.

Tullygally began to assert themselves on the game and went 2-1 ahead when Mickey Cassidy broke from defence linking with Gareth Murphy then Sean O'Neil before finding Daniel Ryan who crossed for Ruairi Feeney to nod home in a magnificent display of one touch football.

Tullygally had further chances but were unable to add to their lead in the first half.

They continued to press their opponents and added a third goal when a Daniel Ryan flick was controlled in the box by Sean O'Neil and the young midfielder showed great composure to wrong foot his marker then poke the ball past the keeper.

Tullygally came close with Ruairi Feeney hitting the woodwork twice and Kitty O'Neil also going close from distance.

The best goal of the game came in the 75th minute when a pinpoint cross from Dwyer Hill was met by Sean O'Neil and his diving header gave the keeper no chance to leave Tullygally worthy 4-1 winner's.

Tullygally thanked Michelle's Kitchen for sponsoring the match ball. The last two winners of the joker poker draw were Davy King and Gerard Nugent respectively.

Tullygally face a tough test next week against Warrenpoint, kick-off 1.30pm.
