Lambeg footbridge works completed

Work to replace the footbridge at Lambeg Train Station, which commenced during 2020, has now completed, with the refurbished footbridge now reinstated on-site and the temporary footbridge removed.

This follows essential weekend night-time works at the site which have now concluded.

The work has been carried out on behalf of Translink by Knockloughrim-based company F.P McCann Ltd.

Jonathan Pearson, Translink Project Manager, said: “This project will maintain accessibility and improve station safety at Lambeg, ensuring that it remains a feature of the station and the locality for years to come.

“The original structure was refurbished off-site and has now been reinstated on the station platforms, once again facilitating customers in making essential journeys at this time. The temporary footbridge that has been use for the last number of months has been removed as part of associated works.

“We are grateful to lineside residents and the wider community of Lambeg for their support and patience while this necessary work was completed.”
