Teens arrested after cemetery incident

TWO teenagers were arrested in Belfast on Saturday afternoon (February 13) after trying to steal a car from a man at Carnmoney Cemetery.

The man was visiting the graveyard shortly after 2pm when he spotted the youths trying to steal his vehicle. He dragged one of the teens from the car and they made off in a waiting Nissan Micra.

Police officers pursued the vehicle towards Belfast city centre and subsequently arrested a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old.

The boys were later released on bail pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

Meanwhile, sometime between 8.30pm and 9.45pm on Wednesday (February 10) a motorbike was stolen from the garage of a house on the Jordanstown Road. The KTM small wheel 65 racing trials bike is orange and black with blue handlebars.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the theft to contact them at Newtownabbey Station on 0845 600 8000.
