Superheroes fly in for charity event in Crumlin and Glenavy

The safest place in Northern Ireland on Saturday 13 June will be Crumlin and Glenavy as a superhero invasion is planned to take the villages by storm.

Batman, Superman and Spiderman are donning their cycle helmets to take part in the Superhero Cycle and Sponsored Walk.

Beginning at midday the children from St Josephs’, Ballymacricket, Gaelscoil Ghleann Darach and Crumlin Integrated Primary Schools, will meet at Ballymacricket School for registration.

At 12.30pm the cycle will zoom through Glenavy village and up to the summit of Alpe d’Crumlin, then free wheel to Crumlin Leisure Centre.

Registration for the sponsored walk will take place at midday at St Josephs/Mater Dei, with the walk beginning at 1pm, walking up the Main Street to Crumlin Leisure Centre for the big ‘superhero’ finish.

The family fun day is a reward for all the children taking part and has been funded by many businesses within the two villages.
