Special day at the palace

Well-known Larne man Robert Alexander and his family enjoyed a right royal day when he received his MBE from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.

Robert was named in the New Year’s Honours List for his long-standing and dedicated service as a volunteer to a number of organisations such as the Boys’ Brigade, Larne YMCA and the Larne-based interdenominational Tuesday Group.

The retired businessman said he thoroughly enjoyed the experience of meeting Prince Charles at the special service. He was accompanied by his wife Kathleen, son Robin, daughter Catherine Lynas and granddaughter Jennifer Lynas.
