‘Slow down’ appeal from pupils

VICTORIA Primary School pupils took to the streets of Carrick last week in an attempt on the world record for the largest ‘walking bus’.

The pupils were joining tens of thousands more across the UK participating in the Giant Walking Bus campaign, co-ordinated by road safety charity Brake and sponsored by fuel brand Jet.

The event aimed to raise awareness of the number of children killed and hurt on roads, help schools to teach pupils about road safety, and appeal to drivers to slow down in communities.
